Improving Your Dental Practice's Patient Satisfaction Level

Dentist Blog

If you have your own dental or orthodontic practice, and you have noticed repeat customers are not as abundant as they were in the past, you will need to take a look at your current methods in conducting business to find ways for improvement. Increasing the satisfaction level of your patients can be done by thinking about their needs first. Here are some efficient ways to improve the level of happiness of your clients, helping you to expand as result of them sharing their experiences with others.

Provide A Well-Maintained Waiting Area

The first impression your patients will have of your practice, is the feeling they receive when they walk into your establishment. If the waiting area is in disarray, or if there appears to be many people inside waiting to be seen, the outcome will be feelings of uneasiness and irritation. Provide plenty of seating in your waiting room for those who are present to be seen by a dentist. Do not overbook time slots when scheduling, as this will lead to a congested waiting area, contributing to stress in patients as a result. Make sure someone acknowledges each person as they walk through the door as well.

Invest In Equipment To Save Time And Hassle

Having state-of-the-art equipment within your practice will save time, which will be favorable for both employees and patients. This also allows you to expand on the services you offer. Consider purchasing an orthodontics 3D printer to eliminate the need to wait for aligners. Since this piece of equipment allows a dentist or orthodontist to update information on the spot, aligners can be constructed within the practice at that very time as well. Invest in a digital radiography system to transpose X-rays directly to a computer screen instead of waiting for film to be developed. Purchase a computer system that assists in being able to construct porcelain crowns, inlays and outlays in the same visit rather than making customers wait for weeks for a delivery from a laboratory.

Follow Up With Customers Frequently

Keeping in contact with your patients will help retain them as future customers. Sent out a friendly happy birthday notification to each patient when it is their birth month. Flyers can be sent to home addresses discussing the importance of oral hygiene while giving a friendly reminder to make an appointment for a cleaning in the future. Send out surveys to patients asking for information about their last visit. These can be anonymously answered and returned to the office, allowing you to make changes in the way you conduct business when you receive derogatory information. Contact a business, such as the Next Level Orthodontic Lab, for more information.
